With the cold snap finally arriving we can now take a look at the bestsellers of the season so far. This is a perfect opportunity to look at the most purchased and popular items so far this season.
Top five website bestsellers
A368/N–Our Thinsulate range remains popular year on year with A368 being the most sought after. While our Olive edition has sold out we still have plenty available in Black and Navy.
GC9–Childrens magic gloves. Ideal for this time of year, these stretchy gloves are ‘one size fits all’ and available in a range of colours.
GA31/B-Black Thinsulate fingerless gloves. Part of our Thinsulate range these fingerless gloves have been in high demand the last couple of months.
GM25/B–Black Mens Knitted Thinsulate Gloves. Another glove in our Thinsulate range, this knitted Thinsulate glove should be an essential items for your Glove collection.
GC11–Children’s magic gripper glove. An alternative to the bestseller GC9 this glove is also well suited for children with each pack featuring a wide range of colour schemes.
Ski Hats
Ski Hats remain one of our most popular ranges for this time of the season. Firstly, we have seen great demand for our Thinsulate Ski Hats such as the 2-Tone A1301along withA548. Our Ladies cable Knit hat A1236 is also very popular.
Children’s collection
Many bestsellers can also be found in our children’s collection. This includes more Ski Hats such as B269 which features a Double-bobble and C603 which features superb winter themed animal designs. Exclusive to the children’s collection is our Novelty hats which our part of our Jiglz brand. The flamingo C591 and the T-Rex C434 are the two bestsellers in this range and will a fun addition to your children’s headwear collection.
Flat Caps
While they are suited for all year round wear we have seen an increase in orders featuring differing styles of Flat Cap. By far our 8-Panel caps like H96, H92 and H91were well favoured by customers who have ordered so far. The biggest seller by far though was the Men’s preformed flat cap A1345.
New Autumn/Winter 18 collection
Despite being fully stocked towards the end of last month we have seen some interesting sales trends with our new Autumn/Winter collection. More stylish additions like our new Wool felt beret A1467along with items from our country collection like the faux fur A1476. The ladies Bakerboy A1448 and ladies gloves with pom-poms GL1230 were another two items which peaked interest.
Scarves & Bags
Finally we can look at our additional Accessories such as Scarves & Bags. First up we have introduced some new Men’s scarves like the recent bestsellers SCARF93 and SCARF96. We have also spotted a recent trend for both Unisex and Men’s snoods with high demand for SD5and SD4. Foldaway shoppers such as LB4 and LB37have also been popular this season so far.

Fashion trends are forever changing and it can be difficult sometimes to keep track of what’s considered popular at any given moment. Here at SSP Hats we always like to keep an eye on what’s considered to be the most popular and profitable ranges at any one time. Looking at studies and reports from all types of fashion outlets, this Spring/Summer season has brought up some interesting predictions.
With their casual look and nostalgic feel, it’s considered that both the bush hat and baseball caps will be very popular for this coming season. Thankfully we have a wide range of both current and new bush hats along with an array of great baseball caps. All of these hats are made from strong materials with a diverse set of designs from patterned to plain. Children are also catered for with character style bush hats that will appeal to their playful nature.
For men in particular, the Fedora is considered to be the top trend that will be a definitive bestseller. Again we have an entire range of fedoras made from all materials and suitable for all the occasions the spring/summer season may bring.
Women’s trends this season are considered to be both visors, which are perfect beach and holiday wear particularly in the summer season and wide brimmed hats that often bring a sense of elegance to any outfit.
Finally straw material hats and floral motifs are predicted to be very popular for this time of year and we have plenty to choose from.

From December we released our latest Spring/Summer 2016 catalogue which featured our current stock with some brand new additions. While these new additions have been added to the website for previewing they weren’t available for purchasing. Thankfully from today all of our new arrivals are ready to order with full stock levels.
One of the most popular ranges last spring/summer season was our sensational straw and sun hats. Due to their popularity we’ve decided to extend these substantially for both men’s and women’s collections. Fedoras like S220 and A1002 along with trilbies like S240, will appeal to those men wishing to create a casual look and feel. Elsewhere arrivals such as the wide brim SL31 and S225 are superb for female customers. Not to mention our great reversible sun hats such as A1008 and straw hats like SL33. Many of these new straw and sun hats have exquisite features. From patterns to bands, there’s truly something here for every taste.
Our brand new tweeds are also now in stock with a wide range of styles available. New trilbies and fedoras like A1024 and A1020 are available in earthy colours and constructed from strong materials, making them ideal for the great outdoors. Best sellers like Flat caps are having new additions such as H102 and A1022. Creating the most interest so far though is the tweed porkpie H103.
As previewed in our previous newsletter our new Occasion hats and Fascinators are now available for purchasing. Finally we are offering new Lightweight scarves that will complement that perfect spring outfit.
As ever minimum ordering is £100 and we are offering free deliveries for any orders over £300. We’ve had many enquiries about our new stock already and the most popular items can sell out quickly so this is a great opportunity to get your orders in quickly.

No doubt you are all preoccupied with Christmas and the current winter season, but a change in the air is soon coming with the arrival of the Spring/Summer season. We have been working hard to bring you brand new additions to our spring summer ranges and our pleased to announce that the new SSP Hats Spring/Summer catalogue will be released from the 17th December.
Firstly one of our most popular ranges is always the Fascinators and Wedding Hats and next season we will be extending this range significantly. Formed from Sinamay Materials, these hats will feature exquisite designs in a variety of shapes and sizes. Styles such as combs, headbands, forms, wide and short brims will all be available, appealing to a wide variety of customers.
Trendier styles such as Trilby’s and Fedoras were much in demand last season. So we are really excited to be adding new additions. Designed with straw materials and finished with neutral colours these hats come in a range of sizes to suit a variety of heads. Materials such as straw were hugely popular last season so we’ve decided to add new additions. Many of our new straws are accentuated with beautiful bands and an array of different sized brims that are bound to impress.
Another popular style last season was our Sun Hats in particular the bush hat style, so we are happy to be extending this range also. Featuring bright colours, soft materials and appealing patterns, children and ladies will adore these new hats. The Aussie hats range will also be getting two new styles specifically for men and a more casual look. While female customers are catered for thanks to our new visors. Finally this catalogue will showcase some new additions to our already superb Hawkins country range. High demand items such as flat caps and porkpies are being added to the already long list of great Hawkins country items.
Naturally we will also be restocking on our most successful ranges from last year. This new directory should be with you very shortly. We should have 100% stock levels of all products in the directory by February 2016, but do feel free to place orders as soon as you like, we can then arrange a despatch date to suit you. Goods are not invoiced until the day of despatch. But it’s best to get your order in early so as not to be disappointed on missing out later!
As with previous years, SSP Hats will be closing for a short time over the Christmas Period. We will be closed from the 23rd of December 2015 until the 4th of January 2016, so we will be unable to help with any enquiries during this time. Last dates for dispatch are the 17thof December for delivery on the 22nd. Please note that during the busiest periods we cannot guarantee next day dispatch so please allow plenty of time when ordering.

With Halloween and Bonfire night fast approaching, the next couple of months are the perfect opportunity for people to either wear some cool novelty hats or keep warm and snug while watching those wonderful fireworks go off.
Firstly for Halloween, we have a great variety of children’s novelty hats and earmuffs that would accompany any Halloween outfit perfectly. This includes our monster novelty hats such as our furry C228, C208 or soft fleece C416, which are all quirky and fun. Elsewhere we have animal gilets like the sublime BW7 and BW9. These also have the advantage of keeping a child warm while still standing out. Finally our animal earmuffs such as C223 would be a great choice accessory, keeping those little ears snug.
For those who may be attending bonfire night, we have a whole host of styles of hats and accessories that will keep those hands and ears warm. Hats suitable for Bonfire night include our Ski, trapper and peruvian hats. Gloves can also be found in the winter collection, along with Umbrellas, just in case the whole thing gets rained off. With us now being into the autumn season, the weather is about to change for the worse. This of course has one great advantage, customers looking for great bargains on hats and accessories that can withstand the declining temperatures. This month we would like to bring to your attention our newly designed tweed bags for the new Autumn/Winter collection which are causing quite a stir already. Tweed as a material is rich in history and heritage with an excellent reputation.
New tweed bags such as LB33 and LB37 are particular standouts with their Mid and Light green colours and faux leather patches. Brighter options include LB39 and LB37 which feature more enticing reds and browns on both the front and back. These neutral colours also mean that the bags would go well with any outfit.
These bags offer a range of differing shapes and sizes, making them practical for any situation from shopping to holidays. LB33 for example is a smaller cross body bag so is more suited for those essential items. Whilst larger bags such like LB35 and LB39 are more ideal for shopping or holidaying.

With the summer season sadly coming to an end, it’s time to focus on adding to your Autumn and Winter ranges. Our Autumn/Winter hats range from trappers to country hats, which are that ideal mix of practicality and style. This time we will be focussing on our varied range of ski Hats.
