Birmingham NEC was the venue for this seasons MODA event and we were very lucky to attend such a sensational event. We thank all of those who were able to attend and come see us. The event was such a success that we managed to place some very large orders and increase our customer base which is always welcome.
Hat wise some interesting trends came up with the orders placed. Our newest faux fur headbands and pillbox hats like AW130 and AW132 were causing a real buzz over the event, with many customers placing an order of least one type of faux fur hat. With the harsher weather conditions soon to be upon us, it’s was understandable that our Ski hats and Thinsulate range were popular with customers. Other outdoor hats such as our Aussie style hats and flat caps like H91 and H27 were also in high demand.
Accessories also features prominently on customer orders. In particular was our new wellington and tweed bag range. New tweed bags in particular, like LB37 and LB39 were highly favoured. Finally our wide range of gloves like GC5 and GL70 were also consistently ordered.
We will be returning to the Birmingham NEC once again for Autumn fair from the 6th to the 9th September at Hall 4, stand 4E50-F51. If you are able to attend then we would love to see you there, but if not we will be again offering feedback on the event.

This month we would like to bring to your attention our newly designed tweed bags for the new Autumn/Winter collection which are causing quite a stir already. Tweed as a material is rich in history and heritage with an excellent reputation.
New tweed bags such as LB33 and LB37 are particular standouts with their Mid and Light green colours and faux leather patches. Brighter options include LB39 and LB37 which feature more enticing reds and browns on both the front and back. These neutral colours also mean that the bags would go well with any outfit.
These bags offer a range of differing shapes and sizes, making them practical for any situation from shopping to holidays. LB33 for example is a smaller cross body bag so is more suited for those essential items. Whilst larger bags such like LB35 and LB39 are more ideal for shopping or holidaying.
Every bag features plenty of space and compartments along with soft lining to protect those precious items. Some feature adjustable straps and buckles, making them one size fits all and allowing the wearer to create a comfortable fit, whilst others feature sturdy handles.
Available very soon and being sold in packs of 2 under the Hawkins brand name, these tweed bags will remain popular all year round, but especially this season when tweed features high in the fashion stakes.

With the summer season sadly coming to an end, it’s time to focus on adding to your Autumn and Winter ranges. Our Autumn/Winter hats range from trappers to country hats, which are that ideal mix of practicality and style. This time we will be focussing on our varied range of ski Hats.
Available for order and dispatch now, our ski Hats are an assorted range of colours and styles that would suit any number of situations. First up is our ever popular Thinsulate range. These hats such as A220 and A547 are created from thick, strong materials which help the wearer keep warm in those worsening weather conditions. They’re also offered to you at affordable prices and we have an extraordinary range to choose from.
Also providing great warmth and durability are our knitted ski hats, which can protect those ears while still providing a sense of style. Featuring vibrant colours and striking patterns, knitted hats such as A865, A681 and A612 are true standouts, proving to be popular year on year. Our oversize chunky knit beanie A908 in particular is wonderful for providing much needed warmth.
Children are also catered for with our many novelty and animal ski hats. Our popular Jiglz brand name, offers children bear hats such as C172, C139 and B226 featuring cute animal faces and pom-poms which appeal to younger minds.
Finally our ski hat collection wouldn’t be complete with our union jack themed ski hats including the new addition SKI20 along with old favourites like A607 or C405. Hats such as these are made from either high quality Acrylic or polyester yarn, making them durable and long lasting.

With Moda now done and dusted, Birmingham NEC will again be our final destination for the busy trade show season and were ending with the most grandiose of all this year’s trade shows, Autumn Fair 2015. This prestigious show has around “29,000 visitors from the UK and overseas and an incredible 1,400+ exhibitors, Autumn Fair introduces some of the world’s best brands to some of the industry’s best retailers”.
From the 6th to the 9th of September we will be positioned at Hall 4 Stand 4E50-F51, where we will be waiting patiently for your company. This is our final Trade show, so this is really the last opportunity to see for yourself just how high-quality our hats truly are.
From trappers to ski hats, knitted Hats to tweed hats, throughout the event we will be showcasing an assorted array of hats and accessories. All ages will be catered for with our Children’s winter collection and Adult collection on display. Accessories such as Bags, Gloves and scarves can also be viewed and are all perfect for keeping your customers warm over the winter months. Why not check out our new autumn/winter stock, some of which is ready here for dispatch to you.
SSP Hats would like to thank all of those of you who were able to come visit us and view our current and new Autumn/Winter range. We’ve had some wonderful feedback on our differing hats and have had a wide range of orders which are already being processed, ready for dispatch. As with previous trade shows, those of you who couldn’t attend need not worry as we will be offering news on what the best and most talked about ranges at Autumn Fair were this year.

We are delighted that we will once again be attending MODA at the Birmingham NEC from the 9th to the 11th August. Stand O48 in Hall 19 is where we can be found, waiting patiently with our new additions to our Autumn/Winter range along old favourites like our Ski and Trapper hats. This is a prime opportunity to get an extended look and feel of a variety of hats and accessories.
